DUBAI — Dubai Municipality is currently undertaking a Dh185-million project to provide comprehensive drainage and storm-water network for Al Warqa 3, a newly-developed residential area in the emirate, said Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality.
He noted that the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of next year, forms part of the civic body’s plans to link new residential areas with the city’s main drainage network.
“This project will provide drainage connections to some 2,185 houses in Al Warqa 3 area, which is located between Al Awir Road in South, Al Warqa 1 and 2 in West, Mirdif in North and Al Warqa 4 in East. The total area to be served by the project is 636 hectares. Besides, the storm-water network would have a total capacity of 188,000 cubic metres per day,” explained Lootah.
The Drainage and Irrigation Department at Dubai Municipality has urged residents of the area to forward any suggestions or remarks in this regard via the municipality’s web site www.dm.gov.ae (Have Your Say) or call toll free 800 900 or Fax: 04-2214835.
