DUBAI — The Dubai Department of Health and Medical Services (Dohms) is inviting internationally recognised doctors in a bid to reduce the numbers of nationals seeking treatment abroad and to reduce both diagnosing and treatment costs.
Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Oghani, Director of Foreign Relations and Media Department, said the policy, which had proved very successful, had cut down the numbers of nationals travelling for treatment abroad, also helped the staff to gain experience, communicate with international experts and learn about the latest treatments in different medical fields.
Diagnoses and consultations on different cases will be provided by a number of international recognised doctors hosted by (Dohms) this month, he said.
Six prominent doctors from the US, the UK, Switzerland and France will come to the country to review the cases treated at the department's different hospitals, he said, adding that they will provide diagnostic and treatment consultancy whenever needed.
They will provide consultations in cardio-vascular problems, neurologic surgeries, child brain paralysis, child eye squinting problems and shoulder surgeries, he informed.
