The Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has donated Dh3 million towards the UAE Water Aid campaign (UAE Suqia), which was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign is aimed at providing fresh potable water to five million people around the world.
Saeed Khoory, chief executive officer of Enoc, handed over the cheque for the amount to Yahia Abdullah Al Muaimi, head of the Local Aid section at the Emirates Red Crescent, at a ceremony held at Enoc’s headquarters.
Khoory said: “The UAE Water Aid initiative underlines the commitment of our leadership to make a meaningful difference to the lives of the underprivileged across the world, further defining our nation’s status as a key international donor of aid and humanitarian support. We are indeed honoured to support the philanthropic initiative launched by Shaikh Mohammed, which further strengthens our corporate social responsibility commitment.
“Reflecting the spirit of compassion and generosity that marks the Holy Month of Ramadan, the UAE Water Aid will enable communities to have access to drinking water, the vital source of life and good health. We are thankful that our contribution will help communities that are in urgent need of clean drinking water.”

“This donation comes as part of the corporate social responsibility programmes Damas pursues. This donation is a national commitment and a voluntary response to the international human conscience that bears the fingerprint of Shaikh Mohammed,” said Anan Fakhreddin, CEO, Damas.
A cheque for the donation was handed over to Mariam Al Murr bin Huraiz, head of the volunteers section, Dubai branch, at Red Crescent, who thanked and appreciated Damas for its gesture.
