Dubai Cares: Man Utd publication fetches Dh5m

DUBAI — A sports publication fetched a record Dh5 million at an auction held at Jumeirah Beach hotel for Dubai Cares campaign yesterday.

The Manchester United Opus Experience, a sports publication with historical moments of the club’s history, was auctioned for Dh5 million. The previous record bidding for a sports publication was Dh4 million.

Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum signed the Manchester United Opus Experience before it went on auction.

Saleh Tahlak, Tariq Ahmed Baqer, Ziad Ahmed Baqer and Saleh Abdullah Saleh bought the Opus on a record breaking bid. Sachin Tendulkar’s Opus Experience, a book which has master blaster’s signature, fetched Dh300,000. Sachin Tendulkar was present at the function.
