The bonus Mohammad Nazier received was the equivalent of 49 months’ pay from his job with the Gulf Arab state’s municipal authority, Emirates Today newspaper said.

”I had to take some loans to pay for my children’s weddings and education. Now I will repay my debts ... and keep some money for the future,” said Nazier, who took sick leave only once to undergo surgery.

“This award means a lot to me. It is because of God’s grace that I received it,” said Nazier, a former soldier.
