The singer, who is in the city in connection with his concert staged at the Aviation Club last night, was talking to the media at the Jashanmal Bookstore, Mall of the Emirates, where he signed his latest book American Women to raise money to support research for breast cancer.

“I am now concentrating on a new album Anthology. To create new albums is my job. I am sure this visit will not be my last visit to Dubai. I am sure I will be back to Dubai for more performances in the future,” he said.

“The book American Women is a tribute to a friend of mine who died of breast cancer. I have brought out two other books in the last six years,” Bryan Adams said, pointing out that the idea was to raise as much money as he could for breast cancer victims by getting as many people involved as possible and using mostly high profile people to generate awareness.

About 250 books were signed by Bryan Adams yesterday at the Jashanmal Bookstore. Fans from all age groups thronged the book-signing venue to have a glimpse of the rock star.

Five-year-old Liam Harder was one of the thrilled fans. Accompanied by his mother Melinda, Liam said he was there just to see his favourite singer. “I always love to listen to Bryan Adams. I know most of his songs. I am very happy to see him in person and get a copy of his book personally autographed by him,” said Liam, humming away one of his favorite numbers Summer 69.

“It was a wonderful experience in my life to get a signed book from Bryan. I love all his albums and he is a great singer. Now, I am looking forward to watching him perform live,” said Jamie, adding that her respect for the singer has increased after learning that he was raising money for a good cause.

American Women is a third photographic book by Bryan Adams after Made in Canada and Heaven. His books have raised a considerable sum of money for breast cancer research and charity worldwide.
