Dubai lab gets UKAS accreditation

DUBAI — The Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) has obtained accreditation from the UK Accreditation Services (UKAS) to conduct inspections of products according to specified international criteria ISO 17025, said an official.

Engineer Abdullah Al Shaybani, Assistant of General Director of Technical Services, Dubai Municipality, told journalists yesterday, "The much-coveted approval from UKAS came as a result of commendable efforts made by all the workers in the department. This approval now gives a pioneering status to the department — both at the regional and international level." "The accreditation covers 32 types of inspections involving foodstuff, six testing procedures for precious metals, and 17 items of calibrations," he added.
