SHARJAH — Dubai Ladies Club, a member of the Dubai Women’s Establishment, will turn pink on October 27. The club is organising the ‘Think Pink’ campaign to unite women of all ages in a common cause to provide hope and strength to those suffering from breast cancer.
Highlights will include free breast screening by female doctors from Dubai Health Authority.There will be an outdoor film screening on breast cancer.
The club has also arranged to have pink stylish products for the occasion. A portion of the proceeds generated by the sales during the day have been pledged to benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF).
The ‘Think Pink’ campaign will also feature ‘Paint Pink’, an art activity that will allow participants to paint in all shades of pink as well as live caricature drawing by Australia’s Media Artist Joanne Brooker.
Muna Bin Kalli, General Manager of Dubai Ladies Club, said, “The event is Dubai Ladies Club’s initiative and it’s a way to deliver its message to get women acquainted with breast cancer. By encouraging early detection, as well as working together to increase awareness, treatment can begin before the disease is spread.”
Muna said that the Club’s aim is not only to promote a social cause through creativity but also inspire participants to support women and families affected by the disease.
