Anirudh Sivaram of Grade XII secured 389 marks out of 400 (97.25 per cent) to top the science stream.
Speaking with Khaleej Times, an elated Anirudh said, “I am really thrilled to know my results and this is certainly due to the consistent support of my teachers.” An expert public speaker, Anirudh also heads the debating society at school, besides taking part in other extra-curricular activities. “I always believe in studying according to a schedule and treating the board exam as something usual. Without being calm, one cannot perform well,” says Anirudh who has already been selected for higher studies at Yale University.
Prathna Ramesh from DMHS topped the commerce stream with 97 per cent marks while Pragya Kaul stood out among peers with 95.75 per cent in the humanities stream.
A total of six students from the school scored 100 marks in the mathematics examination.
Johina Maria John and Shruthi Sivadasan from Sharjah-based Progressive English School secured 93 per cent in the science stream, while Tania Feroz Mohammed got 88.3 per cent in the commerce stream. In the Grade X ICSE, Jayanth Siddharth from DMHS became the topper, scoring a stellar aggregate of 98.0 per cent, while Keerthi Raj and Elzeba Susan Varghese from Progressive English School secured 93 per cent each.
More than half of the 109 students appearing for Grade X exams from DMHS scored over 90 per cent in the ICSE exams held this year. Both the UAE schools have 100 per cent pass percentage and the school expressed happiness over the achievements by their students.
“The commitment of our teachers and the involvement of our parents ensure that our children excel on every front. This year, the ICSE average is 89.1 per cent. What more can I say? I am so pleased!,” said Daryl Bloud, principal, Dubai Modern High School.
The results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Grade X examinations are expected to be out after May 20. — muaz@khaleejtimes.com
