The project, part of the DM’s e-Government initiative, seeks to integrate procedures for issuing a unified NOC involving the DM, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) and Etisalat.

This was stated by Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality for Building and Planning Affairs, who heads the e-Government Project Committee at DM.

“This is an extremely important project for Dubai. This project will take the e-Government initiative of Dubai to the next level and will allow various government departments to collaborate with each other in order to provide better service to the businesses and citizens of Dubai,” he noted.

Mr Lootah explained that as part of Dubai Municipality’s e-Government initiative, an e-Service was launched in October 2001 to enable customers to apply for services NOCs to a number of departments and sections within the DM. The DM e-NOC Service was developed with the objective of providing DM’s customers with the ability to apply for, enquire on the status of their NOC applications and receive their NOCs online through the Internet. Customers are today applying online through the e-NOC Service and a number of benefits have been realised both by the customers and by DM.

However, in addition to Dubai Municipality, services authorities such as Etisalat and DEWA also issue NOCs for any completed work that may impact their service networks.
