Dubai police airlift two women in medical emergency

DUBAI - Air rescue units of Dubai Police saved the lives of two women, one in Sharjah and the other in Ras Al Khaimah, when they quickly moved on Wednesday night to airlift them to hospitals.

Police said they received a report at 6pm on Wednesday about an emergency case involving 35-year-old Fatimah Rashid who had suffered a medical condition in the respiratory tract.

She was airlifted to New Dubai Hospital from Al Dhaid Hospital. Mona Saeed Rashid, 31, was involved in a horrifying accident around 11pm on the same day. She had a severe head injury and had to be taken to a specialised hospital.

Dubai Police Airwing pilots airlifted the woman from Saqr Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah to Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

The Airwing teams were led by pilot Colonel Anas Al Matroushi, Director of the Airwing Centre, and his deputy, pilot Lieutenant-Colonel Abdullah Al Shuhi. The two families extended thanks to police chief Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, and to his deputy, Brigadier Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Mari, for their commitment to helping people.

They also extended their thanks to Dubai Police for their timely action that helped save the women's lives.
