Dubai Police honour survivors of accident

Officials from the Dubai Police human rights department met the workers who were injured in a traffic accident on Emirates Road in May which left 15 people dead.

The bus was transporting 27 Asian labourers when it crashed into a stationary truck.

Major Adil Ahmed Al Kash, Director of the Administrative department of the section, said the visit is part of the humanitarian initiatives launched by the Dubai Police.

The Dubai Police honoured the 12 injured workers, who in turn, praised the police for their “moral and financial support”.

The Dubai Police’s efforts aimed at providing financial aid to the families of the victims who were killed in the accident. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Establishment, the Dubai Charity Association, Al Maktoum Foundation and Dar Al Ber Society donated money to help the families of the deceased and the injured workers.

“These initiatives reflect the concern of the UAE citizens and residents, who were also affected by this tragic accident.”

He said the Dubai Police have generally had a good response from the public to their humanitarian initiatives. -amira@khaleejtimes.com
