The Dubai police launched their latest app - Smart Traffic Fine app - to track and issue fines. The app, meant exclusively for Dubai Police's military personnel, can report traffic violations and issue tickets via smartphones.
The app's development and launch is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to make the transformation to Smart Government and Dubai, a smart city.
Brigadier Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi, General Director of Smart Services Department at Dubai Police GHQ, said the app was launched as per the instruction of Lieutenant-General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. The app can report violations through voice recording, image capturing, and form filling capabilities.
The service is aimed at deepening police personnel's pride and sense of duty, increase their allegiance for their profession, ensure road security and public safety round the clock, and encourage UAE citizens and residents to abide by traffic rules and regulations at all times.
The General Department of Traffic has constantly developed the emirate's traffic systems and introduced the latest in modern technologies to achieve Dubai Police's primary aim, to completely stop fatal accidents by the year 2020.
The Dubai Smart Initiative aims to transform the emirate into the smartest city worldwide, through hundreds of initiatives and smart services. The Initiative is focusing on achieving a smart economy, smart way of life, smart transportations, smart government, smart environment, and smart generations.
