The Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) has been recognised as the best Quran competition in the world. The DIHQA bagged the award at the Moscow International Holy Quran Contest, which concluded recently.
The 17th edition of the contest that started in Moscow on Friday saw participation from 30 Arab and Islamic countries.
Sheikh Rawi Ainuddin, Grand Mufti of Russia, paid tribute to the tireless efforts and "exceptional dedication" of the DIHQA in serving the Holy Quran and its memorisers around the globe.
"The DIHQA has become a milestone Quran competition across over the world with its diverse categories and valuable programmes that encourage the memorisation, recitation and understanding of the noble book."
He also sought more cooperation between the DIHQA, Religious Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, and the Moscow International Holy Quran Contest.
"This will significantly boost bilateral relations between the two countries," he said.
Sheikh Ainuddin handed over the trophy of the award to Dr Saeed Abdullah Hareb, deputy chairman of the DIHQA organising committee.
