A record 52 countries participated at the global trade event dedicated to enabling luxury travel buyers to meet exclusively with worldwide suppliers.
Put up by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the Dubai stand measured 80 square metres and featured 16 co-participants.
Saleh Mohammed Al Geziry, Deputy Director, Overseas Promotions, represented the department.
He said that there had been a considerable increase in awareness in the global market about Dubai’s evolution as an ideal year-round lifestyle destination.
Unique photos on show
DUBAI — Unique photos of Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Johnny Depp, Youssef Chahine, Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor are on display at the ‘Magic of Cinema’, an exhibition being held at Dubai Media City on the sidelines of the Fourth Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) which is ending tomorrow.
Recycling ME Conference
DUBAI — The latest trends and technology in global recycling as well as current Middle East recycling practices and environmental protection programmes will be highlighted at the second Recycling Middle East Conference to be held under the patronage of Dubai Municipality from March 4 to 6.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, will be the keynote speaker at the region’s sole recycling conference. Organised by MP International FZ LLC, Recycling Middle East will be held at the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel and Suites.
SHCT woos XII students
SHARJAH — Grade XII students of Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain were encouraged to consider higher education at the Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology during a joint student awareness drive last week. College officials visited Grade XII students in their schools and invited them to visit the college, especially those interested in higher education next academic year.
They introduced the college, the courses on offer and the facilities available to the potential applicants.
DMC dept’s honours list
DUBAI — The Diploma Foundations Department of Dubai Men’s College (HCT) recently announced its list of high-achieving students for Mid-Semester One. A total of six students attained the Gold level, while twelve reached the Silver level.
In order to be eligible for the Gold Honours List, a student must have maintained an A or A+ average in both English and Maths, while an A- in those subjects is required for the Silver List.
