The Dubai Municipality has started the work for a neighbourhood park at Oud Al Muteena-2 at a cost of Dh5 million.
The project, which is being implemented in an area of 1.2 hectares, is part of a civic body plan for spreading green areas in the city.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Dubai Municipality, said the civic body seeks to provide various facilities for recreation for residents. Solar energy will be used for electricity.
The park will also feature paved walking corridors and plazas, children's play areas for different age groups from 2 to 12 years, colour umbrellas and jogging track.
