The projects include an all-new safari park to replace the 45-year-old Dubai Zoo, a wharfage for Dubai Creek and a revival of the currently halted development of Business Bay Canal.
All three projects that have been approved by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will significantly boost trade and tourism in the coming years. The Dh150million safari park, titled Dubai Safari, is expected to open in the first quarter of 2014.
The Deira Corniche Wharfage Development will be completed by the end of 2013, while the Business Bay Canal project is scheduled to reach its final shape before mid 2014 as per the current plans.
The Dh200 million wharfage is being developed in a stretch of the water body between Deira Corniche and Palm Deira in front of Hyatt Regency, said Director-General of Dubai Municipality Hussain Nasser Lootah while announcing the projects at a Press conference on Sunday.
