The committee was briefed by Nasser Ahmed Saeed, co-ordinator of the project, on several details of the project, and on some technical remarks expressed by members of the committee. This phase involves qualifying civil works contractors, which will begin on May 18 later this year.
Besides, the schedule for this phase also includes qualifying suppliers, choosing the consortiums, tendering, completion of contract documents, contract signing, final designing and implementation, and operation of the first and second phases of the project.
The meeting was attended by Abdullah Al Sayed Mohammed Al Hashmi, Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Saeed Mohammed Al Sharid, Major General Sharafuddin Al Sayed Mohammed Hussein, and Dr Khalifa Mohammed Hareb, all members of the committee.
