Dubai TV lines up programmes

DUBAI — Dubai TV announced the programme line-up which is expected to be screened during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2005.

The announcement was made during a Press conference held yesterday at the TV’s premises in the presence of Abd Al Latif Al Ghirghawi and Ahmed Al Mansouri, Director and Deputy Director of the Business Channel, respectively.

Al Ghirghawi pointed out that Dubai TV is expected to broadcast a new line-up of programmes during the DSF including “Festival Mall” at 4pm and the DSF’s functions from the Global Village at 6pm, the various contests at Hamar Ain Mall at 8pm and the daily raffle draws at 9pm.

Speaking about the budget of “Dubai Nights”, Al Mansouri noted that the “Dubai Nights” would cost about Dh10 million.

Draws on Nissan cars and one kilogramme of gold would take place every day during the DSF, while draws on 10 Nissan cars and 10 kilogrammes of gold would be held on the final day of the festival. The prize of the final draw would be Dh10 million offered by Al Futtaim Group.

Dubai TV would also present a live coverage of the “Dubai Nights”, which are set to be held at the Eastern Hall of Expo Exhibition Centre at Dubai International Airport. An advanced theatre has been set up and large screens were also installed at the venue.

The venue would accommodate about 2,000 visitors and tickets would soon be on sale for Dh50, Dh75 and Dh100 at Tahani Al Khaleej Shops, Virgin Megastores in UAE, Al Safadi Restaurant, Dubai TV premises, and building No. 2 at the Dubai Media City.

More than 11 nights would be broadcast live on Dubai TV and about 20 popular Arab singers would participated in “Dubai Nights”. The singers are Khathem Al Sahir, Nansi Ajram, Khalid Abd Al Rahman, Mohammed Abdo, Jawad Al Ali, Ahlam, Aryam, Aytha Al Minhali, Shereen Wajdi, Omro Diyab, Nawal Al Zoughbi, Hussain Al Jasmi, Diana Hadad, Raghib Alama, Asalah Nasri, Abdullah Bulkhair, Shereen Abd Al Wahab, Abdullah Al Rowaishid, Elissa and Fadel Shakir.
