The ceremony was attended by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and President of Zayed University, and was held at Conference Centre Auditorium of the Knowledge Village.

It was also attended by Dr Suleiman Al Jassim, Vice-President of Zayed University; Dr Larry Wilson, Provost, Dr Abdullah Abonamah, Director of ITI; Dr Motassam Abu Ghazaleh, General Intellectual Property Issues; university professors, sponsors and students.

The winning teams gave presentations on this occasion. The ceremony was held to distribute the certificates and awards to both winners and sponsors, follow-up the winning projects, and evaluate their presentation for possible adoption by private or public sectors.

ZU’s eBiz Challenge this year witnessed a diverse change as it included new categories in the eServices in cooperation with Dubai eGovernment and the voice portal.

A total of 406 teams from the UAE and GCC universities participated in the event, representing 40 universities and institutes from the region. Around 16 judging committee members and experts gathered to evaluate the projects.

Dr Issam Daoud, Director-General of ABC Arabia Innovation, gave a lecture on how to protect and develop intellectual property.
