The step was taken under a programme to provide necessary educational facilities to schools in the emirate, said Khalifa Mohammed Al Shaair, director of the foundation, adding that the first instalment of the equipment went to six schools.
"The equipment was distributed after approval of the programme by the council of trustees of the foundation. It has been placed under the 'education and school paraphernalia' category", he added.
Mr Shaair said that the equipment included 29 computers, five colour printers, three e-projectors, a scanner, two transparent projectors, five air-conditioners and a refrigerator.
The foundation, he said, would distribute other equipment after assessing requirements of various schools which had already submitted applications.
