EHC charts out its ‘Ramadan Festival’

ABU DHABI — Emirates Heritage Club (EHC) yesterday announced its programme for the ‘Ramadan Festival’, which will be held at the Heritage Village in the capital under the patronage of Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of EHC. The festival is being organised for the second consecutive year by EHC.

Mohammed Saif Al Neyadi, general manager of EHC, said the festival aimed at showcasing all aspects of Muslim traditional life during the holy month. “Different traditional, cultural and religious events will be organised,” said Al Neyadi.

Starting on September 14 and concluding on Eid Al Fitr day, the Ramadan Festival will include religious folklore shows, heritage village activities like souq trading, handicraft display and traditional workshops, Islamic contests, traditional food competition, poetry, and lectures related to Islam. One major feature of the festival will be the ‘Best Holy Quran Reader Competition’, where the first, second and third winners will win Dh20,000, Dh15,000 and Dh10,000 respectively.
