DUBAI - The Lebanese Association for the Development of Palestinian Camps, Inaash, will hold a two-day exhibition at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Dubai on Saturday and Sunday.
Inaash, a Lebanese non-government organisation (NGO), works with Palestinian women and children in the refugee camps of Lebanon. They design and hand-embroider exquisite abayas, jackets, stoles, evening bags, cushion covers and a range of other items.
“The profits will be used to renovate the cramped Inaash headquarters. With the money, we hope to expand into a cultural centre. We would like to open a permanent store to sell our embroidery and develop our educational facilities” said Leila Ghareeb, board member of Inaash. “This project provides for the livelihood of 450 Palestinian women. The number of registered refugees in Lebanon is over 410,000, according to latest statistics,” she added.
