Emirates Postcard Millionaire draw

DUBAI — In concluding its annual promotion, Emirates Post on Thursday held the last draw of the 2005 Emirates Postcard Millionaire (EMP) campaign at Lamcy Plaza, with the winning ticket number 3158221024 announced as recipient of the Dh1 million grand prize.

Around 52 people have earlier been awarded Dh100,000 each during the weekly raffle draws held throughout the course of the campaign.

"Our obligation to our customers is to improve the postal services on offer and to ensure that they meet the global postal practices. Over the years, Emirates Post has endeavored to introduce services that contribute to the overall improvement of our daily lives," said Abdulla Al Daboos, Chairman of EMP and Director-General of Emirates Post.

Al Daboos added that in line with their strategic vision to establish the post office as a centre for a variety of services, the new innovations encompass both postal and non-postal services. "Postcard Millionaire, launched in 2004, is one of our most successful initiatives and today is supported by a loyal and growing following," he said.

The fact that people across the emirates can participate in Postcard Millionaire was one of the reasons why it had wide public support. In addition, the fixed weekly draws throughout the year, as well as instant prizes and Dh10,000 cash prizes, have contributed to the campaign's mass appeal.

Aldrin Fernandes, CEO of The Millionaire Co., sole distribution and marketing agency for the Postcard Millionaire Campaign in the UAE, said that the 2006 Postcard Millionaire campaign will go a notch further. "Postcard Millionaire's popularity has grown tremendously and the 2006 campaign will feature new and interesting innovations that will benefit its supporters," he said. The winning ticket number will be checked against the organiser's database and the owner of the number will be informed via a phone call.
