He said that the five-day old girl was found in good health condition. “We couldn’t find out her parents who could be living either in Ajman or in other emirates. The girl was handed over to an Emirati family who will take care of her and raise her. We have completed all the legal procedures required for the adoption of the girl. We didn’t receive any complaint about a missing newborn, which means she was dumped willingly either by her father or mother.”
The official explained that this is not the first time to find an abandoned newborn baby near to mosques and popular areas and this is a negative phenomenon usually conducted by couples whose female partner gets pregnant out of wedlock.
“The UAE society totally condemns such illegal action that never existed in the UAE.We urge people who witness any fishy activity to immediately inform the police. The infant was found by a person going for prayer and she was taken to the Khalifa Hospital to find outwhether she was suffering from dehydrationor any other problem. There was a bottle of milkbeside the baby when she was found and she appeared to be in good health condition.”
The girl received proper care at the paediatric section of the hospital till she was given to the fostering family, said the official.
