UMM AL QUWAIN — The body of an Emirati man was found hanging on a tree in the desert area of Umm Al Quwain on Tuesday morning. Lt Col Khalifah Salem Al Shamsi, Chief of the CID at the emirates police said that the 26-year-old Emirati is believed to have committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
The police received a tip-off from some residents about a vehicle that was seen parked in the desert since the early hours of the day.
A police team went to the desert at around 10.30am to find out what the vehicle was doing in the desert for many hours.
Col Al Shamsi noted that on reaching the scene, detectives found the body of the Emirati man tied with a rope and suspending from the branch of a tree, just a few metres from where the victim had parked his vehicle.
The police removed the victim’s body and transferred it to the hospital.
The officer said that the forensic team took the fingerprints and other details from the scene to investigate into the matter, but found no criminality behind the death.
No clear reason has been found out so far as to why the UAE national decided to end his life.
The police have however warned residents not to think of ending their lives when confronted with problems.
Col Al Shamsi said that committing suicide was a shameful act and is against the teachings of Islam.
He urged people to be patient and to seek advice from religious scholars whenever they have problems.
