Employment cell at Pakistan Association gets into groove

DUBAI — The employment committee instituted under the auspices of the Pakistan Association has helped elicit suitable jobs for 50 Pakistani nationals in different organisations since its inception six months ago.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, general secretary of the Pakistan Association, Dubai, Shahidul Islam said: “Nearly 50 employments have been confirmed after the establishment of the committee and over 100 job-seekers have been referred to several companies.”

Islam observed that most of those who had landed employment possessed a good educational record, particularly those into computers and accounting. "Several of the referred candidates, however, never care to get back and inform us whether they have got the job," he said adding that thousands of CVs had found place in the database.

The committee offered free counselling and resume-building services, Islam observed. “Most job-seekers do not know how to highlight important points in their CVs, so we help them design their resumes so that employers are attracted to them,” he said pointing out that all services offered by the committee were rendered free of charge.
