Etisalat, today announced that it has successfully registered 75 percent mobile phone customers, ahead of the Telecom Regulatory Authority’s deadline of 16 January, 2014, as part of the My Number, My Identity campaign.
Thirty customers have so far won BlackBerry smartphones as part of Etisalat’s drive to encourage registration through weekly raffle draws.
“Etisalat will give away 140 BlackBerry smartphones through draws to reward 10 registered customers each week from now till January 2014. All Etisalat customers who have registered their phones are automatically entered for the raffle,” the company said.
Those who fail to register their mobile number risk having their mobile phone services interrupted and possibly even disconnected, under the TRA’s direction.
The January deadline represents customers’ last chance to keep their existing phone numbers and retain uninterrupted mobile phone service, it added.
Customers can check the status of their registration by calling *171*1#.
