In a statement after the ceremony, Shaikh Khalifa said that the events being currently witnessed by the region and the world , have proven beyond no doubt the correctness of the policies pursued by the UAE, under the leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the emirates.
"As the Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, President Shaikh Zayed , thanks to his forthright vision, set out to build the capabilities of our Armed Forces on the basis of a multi-pronged, integrated, multi-purpose and encompassing long-term strategy. Because it was clearly envisioned and delineated, this strategy is now capable of embracing various changes and developments," said Shaikh Khalifa. He added that the strategy had enabled UAE Armed Forces to achieve a qualitative leap in terms of modern armament, highly trained cadres , organisation and planning.
The sustained training programmes evolved by the Armed Forces have made it possible for its personnel to grasp the modern technology and thereby kept the UAE military abreast the modern changes. Cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries was also effective in assisting the army personnel to broaden the scope of their knowledge and expertise. Shaikh Khalifa said he was proud of the achievements made by the UAE national cadres, particularly their ability to deal with a highly sophisticated military technology which , he said, has enabled the UAE army to maintain a conspicuous position among the armies of the region.
"In making these achievements, our national cadres have always been motivated by their faith in God as well as by their patriotism and allegiance to to their Supreme Commander," said Shaikh Khalifa.
He added: "As the UAE army celebrates the graduation of this batch, it owes a profound gratitude to the Supreme Commander , President Shaikh Zayed, for availing unlimited support and ensuring that lofty values are inculcated into the army personnel.
These includes lending support to just causes and maintaining global peace and security," he said.
On the educational and training policies of the Armed Forces, Shaikh Khalifa said that the future would remain rosy as long as military colleges and schools continue to supply adequately trained cadres.
With these trained cadres the army will be able to maintain its defence capabilities and closely monitor the regional and global trends.
Shaikh Khalifa ordered the UAE Military to maintain its current efforts to keep abreast the rest of the world armies in terms of armament, planning, training and acquisition of knowledge and expertise.
Shaikh Khalifa extended his congratulations to the Commander of the Officers Colleges, the staff and the graduates.
"I'm happy by the efforts exerted by the college to make the training of these officers a success. I urge the new graduates to set good examples of patriotism, allegiance and readiness to face future challenges. We look forward to more achievements in various areas," Shaikh Khalifa concluded. The graduation ceremony was also attended by Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces in addition to a number of Shaikhs, ministers , senior officials and ambassadors of AGCC countries whose cadres were among the graduates.
