Dubai - Dubai Attorney General Essam Al Humaidan has denied reports by some sections of the media about the release of the former governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Omar Bin Sulaiman, on financial bail.
‘Investigations with Sulaiman are still going on,’ according to a statement issued today by the Media Office of Dubai Government . Citing a bid by some of Suliaman’s relatives to apply for redeeming the Dh 50 million Sulaiman had illegally appropriated as performance bonuses during his tenure, Al Humaidan affirmed ‘ The bail is out of the question here’. ‘Investigations by the public prosecution will continue unabated beyond the bonuses file to satisfy details and observations made by the report of the Financial Control Department on Sulaiman’s financial irregularities,’ he added.
