As winter approaches and nights get longer, wildlife in Dubai desert comes to life earlier every day. Operating 'Night Safaris', Arabian Adventures offers customers an exciting opportunity to explore the magical world of the desert after sunset.

The 'Night Safari' includes an off-road night-time desert drive in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve - equipped with a spot light, ultra violet (UV) light and night vision binoculars with the chance to see the range of mammals, reptiles and insects that live there.

An expert guide will point out the animals sighted, with a highlight feature being 'scorpion tracking' with a UV light, which causes the exoskeleton of the creatures to glow in the dark. "It's amazing to see how the desert comes alive as the sun sets," said Simon Mead, Head of Operations at Arabian Adventures.

"On a Night Safari, there's a chance to see Arabian oryx, gazelle, reptiles, rodents, and scorpions. Using the UV light to illuminate any scorpions in the sand really is a captivating sight to see."

The 'Night Safari' experience ends with stargazing through a telescope.
Arabian Adventures operates 'Night Safaris' daily. Trips can be booked on www.arabian-adventures.com from Dh275 per person. A portion of the fee will support local conservation.
