This was announced at fewa's board of directors meeting, which was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Humaid bin Nasir Al Owais, Minister of Electricity and Water.
On the occasion, Abdullah Saeed Ghabar, Deputy Director-General of Fewa, said that the council has also approved a project to construct a power cable network linking Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Al Fujairah at a cost of Dh30 million.
He pointed out that the council approved on the purchase of cooling systems for some plants and stations at a budget of $942,000, as well as buying other advanced devices for increasing the capacity of the power network at a cost of Dh300,000. Mr Ghabar noted that EUR 830,000 were also allocated for importing some new devices.
The council also forwarded a suggestion to the Cabinet on the electricity bills, he said, noting that the authority has paid about Dh26.2 million to fund the National Power Grid Project. The authority is also expected to channel about Dh 262.8 million for the completion of the project, Mr Ghabar indicated.
