Lt-Col Abdullrahman Mohammad Al Kamali, head of the Privatisation and Financial Investment Department in the Abu Dhabi Police, said about 100 special numbers will be auctioned, including three, four and five digit numbers.
The main number plate to be auctioned is 11111. The numbers include 32 three-digit numbers, 34 four-digit numbers, and 34 five-digit numbers. The main three-digit numbers are 191, 202, 970, 117, and 656.
The other four and five-digit numbers being auctioned include 3000, 6600, 9900, 1999, 40000, 11113, and 38000. The Privatisation and Financial Investment Department will facilitate procedures allowing the buyers to issue a post-dated cheque, payable within five days after the auction.
The auction is in response to the publicís many requests. The bidders interested in special five-digit numbers are invited to nominate the numbers they feel like to bide for on the auction website: www.lp.ae.
The four auctions held in May, June, October, and November 2007 fetched Dh185 million, Al Kamali said.
