The exhibition, entitled 'Glitter, Shimmer and Shine', features about 32 paintings by Sinikka. The artist attributed the development of her artistic talent to the UAE, its restful environment and bounty of natural resources, as well as its different picturesque locales.

In her native Finland, Sinikka worked as a marketing professional in a multinational pharmaceutical company and painting was only a hobby, while now it has become a full-time occupation. This is her third solo exhibition at the Cultural Foundation.

She has also participated in several group events, including one with the Abu Dhabi Ladies Art Group.

She has also exhibited at the Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club twice. Sinikka said that silk painting was an interesting medium, allowing her to constantly innovate and give vent to different ideas.

"This time around, I have added some jewels and object d'art to my paintings, giving them a bejewelled and opulent look and I have found so many colours in the UAE shimmering beautifully, the shades of the golden desert sands as well as the turquoise blue of the seas, with its different moods and passions," she said.
