DUBAI - A fire drill was conducted at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel and Towers yesterday.
Dubai Civil Defence firefighters, police officials and rescue teams scampered to douse the fire on one of the upper floors of the hotel building as the passers-by stopped thinking it to be an actual fire.
The personnel of these agencies in cooperation with the management team of the hotel conducted the fire drill and evacuation exercise as part of the Civil Defence annual emergency plan.
The drill was led by Captain Ahmed Khaidish, Director of Civil Defence unit in Al Ras.
Thirty personnel of Civil Defence and the police took part in the exercise.
The drill required the Civil Defence personnel to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to other floors of the hotel and surrounding buildings, while the police team ensured security on the scene and prevented people from entering the place.
