Teams from the civil defence, ambulance at the emergency and public safety department of the central operations in Abu Dhabi police as well as other bodies concerned took part in containing the fire. The drill was designed to train personnel and upgrade the standard of police performance in the field, as well as train policemen and security officers at Adnoc on how to communicate in case of urgent cases and crises.

The drill began with the operations room at the directorate receiving a telephone call from the security and safety office at Zakher fuel supply station on the collision between a sedan car and a petrol tank truck when the latter was supplying the station with petrol.

As a result of the crash, fire ripped through the station. Acting on the report, the operations room ordered all the teams concerned and other entities to move immediately to the place to put the fire under control.

Sirens and loudspeakers were used to evacuate the motor vehicles and people from inside the place. The station was closed, and personnel started putting out the blaze before the arrival of the civil defense men, rescue personnel and the ambulance.
