Dr Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi has always loved the Ajman Corniche. When he was young, he and his friends would hang out on the coast to enjoy the sea breeze whipping across their faces - but then, slowly, he would walk away from them to soak in the scenery on his own.
During those moments of solitude - as he watched the waves rise and fall - he made a promise: He would work hard to serve his home emirate of Ajman.
So, he focused on his studies, earned his degree, and became an architectural and planning engineer. He even pursued higher education and got his PhD on architecture and planning from Wolverhampton in England.
"I started my position as head of engineering project and completed a large number of projects, including the Corniche Road, which soon became a primary tourist destination in Ajman," Dr Al Muhairi said.
The development of the corniche was one of emirate's major architectural projects.
Through his passion and hard work, he not only contributed to shaping the emirate but he also earned the respect of the team at the municipality.
He has received the full support of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman.
Dr Al Muhairi became part of several success stories of the emirate.
"The development of corniche was one of my dreams that came true, along with other projects that have contributed to sustainable development in the emirate," he said.
