Four-day Indian fashion show opens in Dubai

DUBAI — For the first time in Dubai, an exhibition titled ‘The Grand Indian Show-In Touch With Fashion' opened yesterday in Al Bustan Rotana Hotel.

With 100 stalls and 45 participants taking part in the exhibition, the four-day event is unique as it caters to more than one category of latest fashion trends and lifestyle.

It caters to men's and women's designer wear, travel destinations, lifestyle refinements, art, jewellery, event planners and stylists, fashion accessories, household linens and much more.

It is an exhibition intended to accentuate the spirit of celebrating living.

The Grand Indian Show-In Touch With Fashion derives its name from the popular India based lifestyle magazine, In Touch with Fashion brought by Vintage publications.

CEO of Vintage publications and Vintage events, Tarun Sarda says "The objective of hosting this exhibition here is to bring to the populace of Dubai, a composite India in all its splendour and glory, reflective of its culture, specialities and changing lifestyles."

Participating in the exhibition are leading national as well as international brands such as the famous Indian designer Sabyasachi, who was chosen for the New York fashion week. He is also well known as he designed for Indian film stars such as Rani Mukherjee. A sample of the other participants include Shefaali Hedge, Nadia Lakdawala, Anmol by Ruma Sikka, Blossom Exports among others.

The jewellery section offers contemporary designs using diamonds as well as ones made with India's treasured crafts like jadau, kundan, thewa, polki and meenakari. Contemporary renditions with cut and uncut diamonds, precious stones and swarovski crystals are also available. Participants include Vasundhara Creative Jewellery, Silbary by Rachna Motani, San Gold, De Ornate by Sabina Batra and more.

Some of the participants in the lifestyles category are Kaya skin clinic, The Jam Jar art galleries and workshops, India Tourism and Shaadionline-wedding planners, River Moon and Estilo range of bags and Trousseau packages.

The exhibition is open to all as well as fashion and jewellery designers, make up artists, photographers and other professionals who want to update themselves on fashion and lifestyle. It will be open daily from 10am to 9pm till October 30.
