Fujairah fines 38 outlets, warns 396 others in 6 months for flouting rules

Fujairah - The raids covered all shops, shopping centres, markets, restaurants, and institutes across the city.

As many as 38 shops and outlets across the city were fined by the Dibba Al Hisn Municipality (Dahm) in the first six months of the year.

Taleb Abdullah, director, Dahm, said warning letters were also issued against 396 other outlets during the inspections.

"The civil inspectors have carried out 3,875 inspection raids in the first half of the year."
The raids covered all shops, shopping centres, markets, restaurants, and institutes across the city, he added.
"The engineering control section carried out 626 inspection campaigns during which it issued 168 warnings against erring outlets."
"The food control division undertook 1,386 inspections and issued 167 warnings, while fining 30 shops for flouting rules."
A total of 40 warning letters were issued during the 890 inspections that the health control department carried out, Abdullah said.
The environment control section launched six inspection campaigns. The veterinary control cell carried out 937 raids during which it slapped fines against eight outlets, and handed out 14 warning letters.
"The sewage control division executed 30 inspections and warned seven violating outlets."
Abdullah said all his staff cadres and inspectors are geared up to ensure public health and curb every violation.
"More inspection campaigns are in the pipeline to ensure all outlets comply with the prescribed rules."
