Fujairah Medical Zone to open new centres

FUJAIRAH — The Fujairah Medical Zone (FMZ) will launch more health projects this year. New wards and sections will be set up at Fujairah Hospital along with health centres in the Al Raheeb, Al Khalebiya and Al Akamiya areas.

Dr Mohamad Abdulah bin Saeed, Director, FMZ, said preparations are under-way to launch the second phase at Massafi Hospital which includes the opening of an emergency section and more wards.

The Thalassemia Centre at Fujairah Hospital will be operational shortly, Dr Saeed added, pointing out that the centre was erected at a cost of Dh4 million.

Work at the kidney centre at Fujairah Hospital costing Dh10 million will get over by the end of this year.

The new health centre at Al Akamiya will serve around 2,000 patients while the Al Khalebiya unit is expected to cover 500 UAE nationals.

The Al Raheeb centre is set to look after 700 people approximately.
