The municipality has a comprehensive plan to stretch the entire road in the emirate in a way that would keep up with the increase in population. Completion of the new Dubai-Fujairah highway named ‘Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Road’ is a step in that direction.

Al Afkham stressed that the ministry of Public Works should pay heed to the fact that Fujairah has a strategic location on the eastern coastal region.

Al Afkham uncovered a massive plan of the municipality to develop the infrastructure in the emirate. This will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works, other ministries and bodies concerned and is in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, member of the supreme council and ruler of Fujairah and follow–up of Shaikh Mohamed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince.

He pointed out that he has asked Massafi and Al Tuween, two branches of the municipality, to start the work so as to serve the inhabitants there and meet their requirements.

The Municipality is planning, over the coming months, to overhaul the municipality building, Merbeh branch (Al Aqeer), stemming from the policies and instructions of the Fujairah Municipality to enhance and modernise its entire utilities. — salah@khaleejtimes.com
