There were 46 companies participating this year — six more than last year. The various categories of offset printing included, among others, printing of flyers, magazines, books, annual reports, cards and calendars.
Staff of the Galadari Printing and Publishing who received the awards included Pratheep Kumar, Manager, Commercial Printing, Khaleed Abu Romman, Technical Manager and Mushtaq Ahmad, Commercial Printing Production Manager. Kumar collected the Gold for Best Poster. Khaleed Abu Romman collected the gold for Best Newspaper and Mushtaq Ahmad, received the award for Best Catalogue.
Throughout the evening, and in the speeches delivered, there was much pride in the recognition of DIPA as an event that has come a long way. The Chairman of Printing and Publishing Group (PPG), Mazen Haj, thanked the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and said that in the ten years of PPG and 7 consecutive years of DIPA, he has never been as proud.
There were special entertainment programmes, including a laser dance and a magic show by a pair of illusionists that kept the audience in the packed ballroom engaged in the proceedings throughout dinner. Dr Ahmad bin Hassan Al Shaikh, while accepting his award for the personality of the year, spoke about growth and achievement and conveyed the message that companies should invest not just in machines, but in people.
“The real trophy for me is to see you all here and to see the event growing, that’s my trophy,” he said.— news@khaleejtimes.com
