ABU DHABI - Recipient of the prestigious Indian Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Dr J. R. Gangaramani was felicitated by Talmiz Ahmad, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, at the Indian Embassy here on Wednesday.

Gangaramani was recognised for his significant contributions to building close links between India and the UAE.

The UAE-based Indian businessman was awarded by Indian President Pratibha Patil.

Gangaramani has been living in the UAE for the past 35 years and is the president and executive chairman of Al Fara’a Construction, Properties and Industrial Group, UAE.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman is bestowed on non-resident Indians by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to honour exceptional and meritorious contributions in their chosen field/profession.

Ambassador Ahmad praised Gangaramani’s contribution to enhancing India’s image by contributing to the welfare of the Indian community, and the growth and development of the UAE.
