Get up to 50% discount on traffic fines in Dubai

Dubai - Motorists should abide by traffic rules to obtain the discount on their traffic violations.

Dubai Police had earlier this year announced that motorists can get up to 100 per cent discounts on the total accumulated existing traffic fines as part of the country's Year of Tolerance campaign. On Thursday, the police issued a reminder on social media reminding motorists to continue to abide by traffic rules to obtain the discount on their traffic violations.
"There is one and a half month to go, if you continue to adhere to the rules and do not commit any traffic violations, you can obtain a reduction of 50%," police said.
The discount rates are as follows:
> Follow the rules for 3 months, get 25 per cent discount.
> Follow the rules for 6 months, get 50 per cent discount.
> Follow the rules for 9 months, get 75 per cent discount.
> Follow the rules for a year, get 100 per cent discount.

It has been one and a half month since the launch of the "Traffic Fines Settlement" initiative.
