An official source, speaking to Khaleej Times on condition of anonymity, said the accident occurred on Sunday at 7.45pm when Nour left her sisters stealthily and returned to the swimming pool after it was closed.

"The swimming pool's overseer heard Nour's sisters crying and she hurried to the spot only to find the body floating in the pool," the source said, adding that the overseer called the police, who rushed to the spot to investigate the accident.

"The police said it was a case of accident," the official said.

In another accident, four UAE citizens died and three other were injured critically when their car collided with another at Salalah Highway in Oman last Thursday.

The official said the mishap occured when a vehicle driven by an Omani was in the wrong lane, and the UAE driver, in an attempt to avoid a colission, veered sharply in vain. The vehicle was gutted in the accident.

In a third accident, two UAE nationals were killed and a third was critically injured when their vehicle flipped over due to over-speeding at Al Maqam area in Al Ain City. The two died on the spot while the third, injured seriously, was shifted to hospital by the ambulance team, the source said.
