Guess what's brewing at Al Seef street?

DUBAI - Al Seef Street will be hosting a number of events during the DSF 2004, one of which is the 'Tea Oasis', where visitors of the festival will be able to experience a variety of customs with regard to the preparation, presentation, and serving of tea. Visitors will also learn the nuances of holding the cup and drinking tea from different parts of the world. Decoration of the 'Tea Oasis' area has already begun and the entire decor will be centered on the country that is featured in the section.

Some of the interior decors may include the different shapes of each country's special tea table, and special teacups, with music from that particular place.

Suhaila Gobash, Corporate Service Manager, DSF, said: "The idea of 'Tea Oasis' is new and will be launched for the first time during DSF 2004. It was finalised with the aim to show people that tea is a very integral part of their daily lives but is taken for granted as people drink it every day all the time."

The 'Tea Oasis' will feature six different countries preparing the tea the same way it is in their motherland. These include Saudi Arabia, UK, China, India, Morocco, and Malaysia. The tea will be served in regular cups, but otherwise each one will differ according to country's traditional shape of teacups. The tea oasis will have a theme every weekend night, or 4 themes during DSF 2004. The themes include 'Mother & Daughter', 'Married Couples' and 'Youth', and while the countries will be serving tea to the others, only the people that fall into the category of the weekend's theme will be able to enter the themed area. The doors to 'Tea Oasis' will be open from 5pm to 12am and will run for the entire period of DSF 2004, January 15 to February 15 2004.
