ABU DHABI - The Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) officially opened its Madinat Zayed office on Wednesday. The new HAAD branch outside the Capital is part of HAAD’s endeavour to optimise its services geographically and allow all residents access to health services.
The HAAD’s Western Region office services include the issuance of birth and death certificates, health awareness and education and audit services for experience, and study certificates for health professional licensing applicants. It also includes communicable and non- communicable diseases sections. Services will expand as and when necessary. The office, located on the road leading to Madinat Zayed Hospital, near Zayed Al Khair New School, will function between 7am and 3pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Zaid Al Siksek, CEO of HAAD said the Authority aims to “provide key development and support for the health sector and cooperation with the relevant municipalities in remote and rural areas to develop the necessary infrastructure to attract and encourage medical staff to work in these areas.”
The Western Region currently has a population of 152,238. Its 44 healthcare facilities consist of six hospitals, 15 centres, three clinics and 20 pharmacies.
