DUBAI — Haj applicants should have a valid vaccination certificate against meningitis, said a health official.
Dr Mahmoud Fikri, Assistant Undersecretary for Health Policies in the Ministry of Health, has said that these health procedures were set by the Saudi officials to ensure safety of pilgrims from infectious and epidemic diseases. The certificate must specify that all applicants have their vaccinations 10 days before his/her arrival to Saudi Arabia.
“The ministry will provide one dose of quadruple vaccination for adults and children of two years free of cost at all preventive medicine and primary healthcare centres,” he said. He also added that the ministry recommends all Haj and Umrah pilgrims to get the seasonal influenza vaccination for chronic disease patients. — news@khaleejtimes.com
