This week, the UAE team qualified into the knockout stage of the ongoing AFC Asian Cup 2019 with a draw of 1-1 against Thailand at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
To celebrate, the country released an image from the space on January 14, 2019.
KhalifaSat, the first-ever UAE built satellite, released an image of the recently revamped Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.

Part of the expansion plan included increasing the seating capacity to 15,000, building of four television production studios, a 200-person capacity media centre and a lecture hall. Gates of the magnificent stadium opened for the football fans this month.
The state-of-the-art stadium is equipped to stage six matches in the Asian Cup, which the UAE is hosting for the first time since 1996.
