India's second largest private bank and one at the forefront of adopting technology for quick and convenient banking, HDFC Bank features among the top 100 most valuable brands globally, along with Apple, Google, Microsoft, IBM and Facebook.
The bank ranks 74 in the BrandZ list compiled by Millward Brown, a global research agency, in association with WPP. HDFC Bank is also featured in Forbes Asia's 'Fab 50' list of companies for the 9th consecutive time. With this, it earns the unique distinction of being the company with the highest number of mentions in the list, an annual roll of honour of Asia-Pacific's 50 best big publicly traded companies. The bank was chosen from among 1,116 Asian companies with a minimum annual turnover of $3 billion.
HDFC Bank has a distribution network comprising 4,101 branches and 11,962 ATMs across India and overseas presence in Dubai, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Kenya and Hong Kong. The bank's global network of correspondent banks and wide range of remittance options empowers its customers to remit money from anywhere, its robust technological framework allowing banking without visiting the branch.
Over the past one year, digital banking has been a key focus for HDFC Bank. Its offering 'GoDigital - Bank Aap Ki Muththi Mein,' turns a mobile phone into a bank branch. Its mobile banking app offers over 75 transactions, while its net banking services offer over 200 transactions to customers.
HDFC Bank is also set to offer watch banking, enabling its customers to interact via an Apple watch.
For meeting its customer's forex needs during travel, the bank offers the Multicurrency Platinum ForexPlus card. Customers can load up to 21 currencies simultaneously.  The card offers customers a convenient way to manage their currencies on a single card for multi destination trips. Being a platinum card, it offers all the premium services available for such cardholders including Global Customer Assistance Services and various offers at merchant locations by Visa.
The multicurrency card is chip-enabled with an added security feature of temporary card blocking. Customers have the facility to select one's own IPIN and ATM pin through net banking. It comes with a back-up card as part of the kit. The card system has in-built intelligence to select appropriate currency wallet at the time of transaction.
Its efforts on the digitisation front are in line with the Indian government's vision to transform the country into a digitally empowered society and a knowledge economy. HDFC Bank has plans to serve both its retail and corporate customers, backed by strong digital capabilities that enable 24x7 hassle-free banking.
